A 19-year-old Edgewood man was arrested and charged Feb. 12 in connection with a robbery and assault.

The victim told police he was standing outside the Edgewood Convenience Store in the 700 block of Edgewood Road around 3:50 p.m. Feb. 12 when a man, later identified as Franklin Evans, walked up to the victim and asked if he had any money. Evans then allegedly grabbed at the victim’s coat and pants pockets, according to charging documents.

The victim pushed Evans away and Evans allegedly punched the victim in the face, according to charging documents.

When Harford County sheriff’s deputies arrived, the victim’s mouth was bleeding and he was holding his tooth in his hand.

The victim said his attacker had short, dreadlock-style hair, a red bandana around his neck and tattoos, including a tear drop on his face.

Two deputies searching the area saw a man who matched the description the victim provided; the victim identified Evans as the person who attacked him, according to charging documents.

Evans, 19, of the 600 block of Burlington Court, was charged with robbery and first- and second-degree assault.

He was released from the Harford County Detention Center Feb. 13 after posting a $25,000 bond.
