A Harford County man is being held without bail on charges of attempting to murder a Riverside woman in April.
Maerk Anthony Jones, 40, whose address was not available, was indicted May 20 in Harford County Circuit Court on two counts of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, three counts of violating an ex parte order, two counts of illegal possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, possession of firearms, wearing or carrying a handgun, two counts of using a handgun to commit a violent crime, stalking, telephone misuse by making repeated calls and vandalism more than and less than $500.
Jones allegedly harassed a woman, who had a protective order against him, for a month, police said. The alleged harassment started with calls, threats and vandalism and escalated to the use of a weapon.
Around 9:30 p.m. April 10, Jones pulled up next to the woman’s car and allegedly shot at her.
