In a tightly contested tri-meet on Wednesday night, the Aberdeen swim team was able to edge Joppatowne, 94-90, but were knocked off, 107-80, by Bel Air.
Aberdeen’s Meagan Corona won the girls 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard individual medley. Stephanie Verk helped the Eagle girls by taking first in the 100-yard freestyle.
Tyler Hutchins won the boys 200-yard freestyle for Aberdeen, while teammate Kris Castro was the winner of the 100-yard butterfly. Aberdeen’s Griffin Gutkoska won the boys 500-yard freestyle.
Warriors win tri-meet
The Havre de Grace swim team scored a pair of victories last Friday night in a tri-meet, topping the Bel Air squad, 123-65, and knocking off Edgewood, 140-48.
Bel Air was able to beat Edgewood, 108-80.
The Warriors girls squad had a pair of double individual winners in Carrie Amato and Chelsea Phelan. Amato took first in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke, while Phelan had top finishes in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.
Havre de Grace’s Daniel Schoeberlein was the winner of the boys 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, while teammate Chris Worrell earned first-place in the 500-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke. The Warriors also got a pair of victories from Robbie Orzewicz, who won the boys 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.
